Friendship Manor: "Celebrating the Journey"
(Rock Island, IL)–In observance of Nursing Home Week, May 13 to 19, Friendship Manor's Silver Cross Health and Rehabilitation Pavilion will host a series of events designed to celebrate the lives and relationships of residents, families and staff. The theme of the week is "Celebrating the Journey."
"Our residents have lived full lives and we want to honor each and every person who has allowed us to journey with them," said Ted Pappas Jr., CEO/Administrator, "and this is a perfect opportunity to involve families, community members, youth and others in our community who share our respect for the elderly and disabled who live among us."
Residents' families and friends are invited to the week's special events:
Monday, May 14th – Mother's Day Tea and Bon Voyage Party
Tuesday, May 15th – Limbo Contest and Ice Cream Social
Wednesday, May 16th – Talent Show
Thursday, May 17th – Volleyball Match
Friday, May 18th – Hula Contest, Captain's Lunch, Root Beer Floats
National Nursing Home Week is an annual observance sponsored nationally by the American Health Care Association, based in Washington, D.C.
