Eleanor M. Allen, 89, of Silvis, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at St. Francis, Peoria, Ill.

Cremation rites were accorded. Memorial services are 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Havana, Ill. Private graveside services are at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Havana, at a later time. Hurley, Havana, is handling arrangements.

She was born Sept. 21, 1922, in Stockland, Ill., to Frank and Alta Scribner Allen.

Eleanor taught for over 40 years in various high schools in Illinois. Her last employment was at United Township High School.

Surviving are sister, Dorothy Kreiling Swaar, Havana; and cousins, Linda Lafferty and Sarah High, both of Springfield, Ill.
