Muriel I. Meritt, 86, Coal Valley, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Argyle, Wis., died May 2, 2012, in her daughter's residence, Coal Valley.

There are no public services. Trimble, Moline, is assisting the family.

She was born June 22, 1925. She married Walter Meritt on Feb. 23, 1942. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are children, Donna and David Creger, Coal Valley, Martha Meritt, Walter and Peggy Meritt, Donald Meritt, David Meritt, Steven and Sheri Meritt, Regina and Mike Butson; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
