COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — A second man faces charges related to the death of a southwestern Illinois man whose body was found in a trailer home.
Prosecutors in Madison County have charged 55-year-old Jeffery Sminchak of Collinsville with obstructing justice.
St. Clair County prosecutors earlier charged 49-year-old Timothy Hillyer of Collinsville with concealing a homicidal death in the case of 55-year-old Russell Miller.
Miller's body was found April 23 in his Collinsville home, eight days after he was reported missing.
Authorities haven't publicly offered details about the case.
Sminchak or Hillyer couldn't be reached for comment Monday. Online court records don't show whether they have attorneys, and they don't have listed home telephone numbers.
