Agnes E. "Peg" Buerger, 90, of Zelienople, Pa., formerly of Rock Island, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at her home in the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Interment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of Lutheran World Relief.
Peg was born on June 8, 1921, in Rock Island, the daughter of Louis J. and Eda E.M. Kammerer Selle.
After graduating from Rock Island High School, Peg took a job as the secretary for the principal. She later became a homemaker.
She married the Rev. Martin A. Buerger on Aug. 4, 1946, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Island.
Peg was a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island. She loved singing, bowling, gardening and sewing.
Peg is survived by her husband, Rev. Martin A. Buerger, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Naomi Miller, Marion Gindlesparger and Helen Schrage.
