The general election candidates for six contested Rock Island County Board seats in the Democratic primary were chosen Tuesday night. The 3rd, 8th, 18th, 21st, 22nd and 24th districts all had contested Democratic primaries.

In the 3rd District, LeRoy Petersen, of East Moline and Michael Burns, of Silvis, were opponents. Mr. Burns came out on top with 280 votes compared to Mr. Petersen's 230.

In the 8th District, Clark Ramser, of East Moline, and Brian Vyncke, of Moline, where challenging each other for the Democratic nod. Mr. Vyncke got 349 votes compared to Mr. Ramser's 63 votes.

In District 18, it was Ron Fiscella, of Moline, versus Mark Parr Jr., of Rock Island. Mr. Fiscella won with 322 votes compared to Mr. Parr's 299 votes.

In District 21, it was Larry Coyne, of Milan; Scott Terry, of Milan; and Bill McKinley, of Rock Island.

Mr. Terry got 185 votes; Mr. Coyne, 127; and McKinley, 84 votes.

The Democratic candidates in District 22 were Lee Beardsley, of Coal Valley; Kathleen Mesich, of Coal Valley; and Milton DeShane, of Moline. Ms. Mesich won with 239 votes, while Mr. DeShane got 166 votes and Mr. Beardsley got 64 votes.

There were two Democrats vying for District 24. They were Kathy Parrish, of Taylor Ridge, and John Pepke, of Milan. Ms. Parrish got 433 votes while Mr. Pepke got 119 votes.
