As the Scott County Republicans work to clear up confusion about Tuesday's caucus sites, at least three Republican presidential candidates have announced plans to be in Davenport on Monday.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is scheduled to host a rally at 8 a.m. Monday at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, 2815 W. Locust St.

U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, has an event scheduled at 1 p.m. at the SteepleGate Inn, 100 W. 76th St.

Former Speaker of the U.S. House Newt Gingrich will visit his Davenport Victory Office at 909 W. 76th St. and host a telephone town hall from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. From 8 to 10 p.m., his Jobs and Growth bus tour is scheduled to be at the Hotel Blackhawk, 200 E. 3rd St.

The announcements come as local Republicans seek to clarify caucus sites.

At a Thursday event in Davenport hosted by Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum, Judy Davidson, chairman of the Scott County Republicans, announced that false information was being disseminated regarding Scott County caucus sites.

Ms. Davidson said robo-calls were going out in the Quad-Cities area prompting listeners to take a survey and then advising them of their caucus site. In some instances, however, the wrong information was provided, Ms. Davidson said.

She also noted that some campaign websites had listed incorrect caucus sites.

Scott County will have 63 caucus sites Tuesday. Ms. Davidson advised people to check the Scott County Republicans website -- scottcountyrepublicans.org -- for correct information.
