Freight House throws 'Summer's Last Bash'

Jimi Jamison, former lead singer of Survivor, will perform as part of 'Summer's Last Bash' Friday, Aug. 28, at the Freight House in Davenport.
The Freight House, Davenport, will throw "Summer's Last Bash," an all-ages show, outdoors at 421 W. River Drive at 6 p.m. Friday.

Hosted by comedian John Bush, the party will feature Jimi Jamison (former lead singer of Survivor), Lynn Allen, the Funktastic 5, and Mike Gillette of The Strength Show.

Mr. Jamison, a 58-year-old Mississippi native, achieved stardom in the early '80s with the rock group Cobra. He joined Survivor as lead singer in 1983.

Survivor enjoyed five singles in the Top 10, gold and double-platinum albums, and multiple movie soundtracks. Mr. Jamison's hits include "Eye of the Tiger," "High on You," "The Search Is Over" and "I Can't Hold Back."

He then embarked on a solo career that has lasted two decades. His most recent CD, released last year, is "Crossroads Moment."

Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, but no coolers or outside food and drinks are allowed. Tickets are $10, or $7 in advance. For information, call (563) 324-5233.
