The state government is not totally responsible for the mess it is in. We, the voters, are. We are the ones who put the legislators where they are. Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Well, that is what we are doing when we keep voting the same people in to run our government and expecting them to do something different. The state of Illinois is broke and is rated the worst state in the union with its corruption and ineptness. To get rid of the "good ole' boy" syndrome and to put into effect our own term limits, vote every one of these legislators out and vote in new ones.

For those of you who think your legislator is doing a good job, guess again. Who do you think put our government in the situation it is in? Did you get a chance to vote on the budgets or how our taxes are being spent? No. That was decided by the legislators. So, remember this come election time.

When you go to the polls to vote, vote for the person who is not the incumbent. It doesn't matter what party the person belongs to. The legislators in office now do not care about the state. They only care about the party. So, if we vote for the person rather than the party, maybe the winning candidates will start thinking of the good of the state instead of worrying about getting reelected.
