Services for Frank Martinez Jr., 68, of Davenport, formerly of Fremont, Calif., are 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport, with visitation 4 p.m. to services. Cremation will be accorded following services. Inurnment is 11 a.m. Thursday at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island; meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. He died May 5, 2013, at Genesis East, Davenport. Surviving are his wife, Rachael; children, Wadia Martinez, Cassandra Locher, Ramon, Yolanda Gonzalez; 11 grandchildren; two brothers; three sisters.

The participants vanquished the rain that fell during the competition, and some won their events; but most important, they triumphed over their own disabilities.
