RI starts football booster club

A group of avid Rock Island High School football fans is forming the Rocks Quarterback Club, a football-only booster organization. The group will hold an organizational meeting on Wednesday at at 6:30 p.m. at Stern Beverage in Milan.

The club will be electing officers, approving by-laws and setting up organizational plans. Membership to the club is $15 for a single or $25 for a couple, and includes a membership card and static sticker.

1989 -- 25 years ago: An avenue of lights, 13 Christmas trees strung with more than 44,000 sparkling lights, will expand the Festival of Trees beyond the walls of RiverCenter in downtown Davenport in mid-November.
