Scott County deputies and police were called to investigate an unattended backpack at Scott Community College in Bettendorf early Tuesday.

Deputies were called about 9 a.m., but college officials quickly discovered the bag belonged to a student, said Major Mike Brown of the Scott County sheriff's office.

The bag did not contain anything dangerous and the college was not put on lockdown, Major Brown said.
