Merlin "Bill" and Betty E. McGee, East Moline, will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a family dinner.
Betty McNeill, East Moline, and Mr. McGee, East Moline, formerly of Bussey, Iowa, were married on April 25, 1953, at Moline Nazarene Church.
Their children are Loretta (Bob) Niles, Coal Valley; and Connie (Adam) Baumann, Moline. Their three grandchildren are Kristia (John), Heath and Addison. Their great-granddaughter is Jillian.
Mr. McGee was employed as a machine operator at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in January 1985.
Mrs. McGee is a homemaker.
They are members of First Church of the Nazarene, Rock Island.

The closing of the polls at 6 p.m. will mark the start of open house in the newsroom. Visitors will see staff members receiving, tabulating and posting returns.
1989 -- 25 years ago: Few bricks actually tumbled, but no one seemed to mind as about 1,000 people gathered to celebrate the formal start of demolition at the site of a downtown civic center.
