Celia L. Schafer, 94, of Davenport, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Crest Health Center, Davenport.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, with visitation 9 a.m. to services. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Arrangements are by Weerts, Davenport.
She married Royce Schafer on June 5, 1942. He died March 20, 2001.
Surviving are her daughter, Ann Nelson, Omaha, Neb.; sons, Mark Schafer, Lake Geneva, Wis., Paul Schafer, Axtell, Neb.; four grandsons; three great-granddaughters.

1989 -- 25 years ago: Few bricks actually tumbled, but no one seemed to mind as about 1,000 people gathered to celebrate the formal start of demolition at the site of a downtown civic center.
