The city of Rock Island will provide free leaf collection for residential refuse customers from Monday, April 8 throughFriday, April 26.

Leaves must be in approved paper yard waste bags and placed at the normal collection site on the regular refuse collection day. The bags can't contain anything other than leaves.

Residents do not have to be participants in the Yard Waste Subscription Service to use the leaf collection service and do not have to place a yard waste sticker on the bags of leaves, according to a city news release.
