Dan and Enid Welch, East Moline, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
Enid Heitz and Mr. Welch, both of Rock Island, were married March 23, 1963, at St. Joseph Church, Rock Island.
Their children are Monica Lee, Eustis, Fla.; and Amber Vonderhaar, Bixby, Okla. They have four grandchildren.
Mr. Welch was the co-owner and mason contractor of Schott & Welch Masonry, retiring in 2004 after 35 years.
Mrs. Welch was employed as a Realtor at Mel Foster Co., retiring in 2006 after 25 years.

1939 -- 75 years ago: The German army has invaded Poland in undeclared warfare. Poland has appealed to Great Britain and France for aid.
1964 -- 50 years ago: Publication of a plant newspaper, the Farmall Works News, has been launched at the Rock Island IHC factory and replaces a managerial newsletter.
1989 -- 25 years ago: Officials predict Monday's Rock Island Labor Parade will be the biggest and best ever. Last minute work continues on floats and costumes for the parade, which steps off a 9:30 a.m.
