The 2013 Kia Soul urban passenger vehicle returns to the lineup with its refreshingly unique style, fun-to-drive performance and myriad standard comfort and convenience features.Soul brings spirited performance and impressive fuel efficiency of up to 30 miles per gallon on the highway to its segment. For 2013, Soul offers three trim levels ó Soul, Soul+ and Soul!.Kia builds upon out-of-the-box styling, performance and value by adding a number of features to further increase its appeal, including darkened chrome surrounding the grille for an upscale appearance, upgraded leather on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth with steering wheel-mounted controls, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, power-folding side mirrors and cruise control. Also new for 2013, consumers benefit from Idle Stop and Go technology as part of the Eco Package.

1964 -- 50 years ago: About 250 persons attended the first in a series of horse shows at the Hillandale Stables off Knoxville Road near Milan on Saturday afternoon and evening.
1989 -- 25 years ago: Ground was broken this morning for the $4.5 million Rock Valley Business Park near Rock Valley Plaza, Rock Island. The first building is 17,000 square feet for offices and a warehouse and should be completed by Dec. 1.
