Ball, Sheley reach wrestling championships

Two locals will compete in this weekend's NCAA Division III wrestling championships in Cedar Rapids. Wrestling opens this morning with the finals scheduled for Saturday night.

Wis.-LaCrosse senior Adam Sheley reached the championships for the third time in his career. The 2009 Geneseo graduate is seeded third in the 141-pound bracket with a 19-1 record. He is a two-time All-American and took second at the regional meet.

Ethan Ball, a Coe junior and 2010 Mercer County graduate, is the eighth seed in the 174-pound bracket. Ball carries a 21-5 record after winning the regional tournament.
