Kunz named Augustana basketball's MVP

Augustana senior Brandon Kunz, of Lake Zurich, was named the Vikings Most Valuable Player and Most Outstanding Defender.

Kunz started 26 of Augie's 27 contests this season. He averaged 11 points and seven rebounds a game, the teams leading rebounder. The only game this season that Kunz was out of the starting lineup was due to having the flu.

Kunz led the Vikings in field goal percentage (.559), blocked shots (16) and free throws made and attempted (89-114). The senior was second on the team in scoring and was named second-team All-CCIW leading the Vikings to a 19-8 season record.

Kunz ended his his Augie's career with the eighth-highest shooting percentage and ranked 19th all-time in rebounds.
