RI man faces counts of criminal sexual assault

A Rock Island man faces three counts of felony criminal sexual assault for acts he allegedly committed with an underage female over several years.

James William Nickerson Jr., 33, remained in the Rock Island County Jail Tuesday evening on a $75,000 bond.

At a preliminary hearing earlier that day,Rock Island County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Patterson said Mr. Nickerson is accused of starting a sexual relationship in 2009 with someone who was 14 at the time.

Mr. Nickerson's next scheduled court appearance is a March 28 pretrial conference.
