Eye to the Past -- What photographs tell us, Feb. 28

Press release submitted by Moline Public Library. MOLINE -- Gretchen Frick Small, program director at the Butterworth Center and the Deere-Wiman House, will present a slideshow discussion on how to date old photos using a variety of methods including examining background details and fashions at 7 p.m. Feb. 28, at the Moline Public Library. She will also explain different photographic processes including daguerreotypes, tintypes, and stereo cards. The event is free and open to all ages. No registration is required.

1988 -- 25 years ago: East Moline's June Jamboree VI -- Nostalgia Days, will seemlike a '60s revival with the appearance of stars like Bobby Vee, Freddie Cannon, PeterNoone, Turtles, The Grass Roots and Lou Christie. This year's festival has beenexpanded to five days, June 22-26, at the Northeast Park complex.
