The Bettendorf Community School District and the Bettendorf Education Association (BEA) will meet at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. At that time, the BEA will present their initial negotiation proposals to the district and the district will do likewise. The meeting will be held at the Bettendorf Community School District Administration Center, Board Room, 3311 18th Street, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Ed Lee, an eighth-grader at John Deere Junior High School, Moline, is the 1989 spelling bee champion from among 49 top spellers in Rock Island, Henry and Mercer counties. He advances to the competition in Washington, D.C. Runnerup was Ed's sister, Susan.
