Phillip Rocker, Port Byron, celebrated his 85th birthday.
Mr. Rocker was born Dec. 30, 1927, in Moline, to Claus and Bessie Quick Rocker. He married Roberta Whiteside on Aug. 27, 1949, in Joslin. She died March 12, 1997.
His children are Sheryl (Pat) McGuinty, Silvis; and Doug (Marta) Rocker, Geneseo. He has five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was employed at Golden Seed, Rock Island County Forest Preserve and Sims Oil Company, retiring in 1993. He has lived his entire life in Coe Township.
