Rosemary Linn Wendel, 85, of Winnetka, Calif., formerly of Silvis, passed away peacefully on Dec. 17, 2012, in West Hills, Calif., after a short bout with Alzheimer's disease.
There was a memorial service. Her body was cremated.
She was born on May 28, 1927. She was married to George H. Wendel for 63 years. They moved to California in 1955.
In her recent 20 years of retirement, she and George traveled all 50 states and Western Europe. As an amateur she played a lot of golf of which she was excellent. Rosemary was best known as a professional clothes shopper.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Drake (Shirley) and Mark; brother, David; and granddaughter, Marissa.

1964 -- 50 years ago: Publication of a plant newspaper, the Farmall Works News, has been launched at the Rock Island IHC factory and replaces a managerial newsletter.
1989 -- 25 years ago: Officials predict Monday's Rock Island Labor Parade will be the biggest and best ever. Last minute work continues on floats and costumes for the parade, which steps off a 9:30 a.m.
