Charles James Braud, 66, of Rock Island, departed this life on Jan. 1, 2013, at Trinity Rock Island.
Burial will be at a later date. Orr's Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
He was born Sept. 22, 1946, in Chicago, the son of Herman and Bessie B. Mayfield Braud.
He was a combat Vietnam War veteran. He was an electrician and worked for several construction companies.
Survivors include his daughter, Latecia Braud, Moline; son, Justin Braud, Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Catherine Miles-Mendoza, Moline; and brother, Walter Braud, Rock Island.
