Margurite and Sheldon Ross will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a family vacation from Dec. 26 to 30 on South Padre Island, Texas.
Margurite Hinrichsen, Rock Island, and Mr. Ross, Moline, were married Dec. 27, 1952, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island.
Their children are David (Pam) Ross, Milan; and Cathy (Chip) Lee, Boulder, Colo. Their grandchildren are Mike, Moline; Kyle, Milan; Hannah and Mat, Boulder.
Mr. Ross was employed as a purchasing manager at Eagle Signal, retiring in 1985 after 29 years. He was employed at AMCCOM RIA, retiring in 1990 after five years.
Mrs. Ross was employed by the Moline School District as a secretary at the high school, Wilson Junior High and Allendale, retiring in 1989 after 26 years.
We spent a lot of time with the grandchildren as they were growing up, watching basketball and soccer games. We traveled for many years in an RV. We have visited all 50 states and their capitols, also many foreign countries. We have square danced for many years and have been winter Texans for 19 years, spending about five months each year in South Texas.

1988 -- 25 years ago: William G. Lawrence, first administrative director, has retired fromPECO Enterprises, Inc. Prior to his service at PECO, Mr. Lawrence was the civilianpersonnel officer at the Rock Island Arsenal.
