RI's Enstrom to golf at St. Cloud State

Laurel Enstrom, Rock Island High School's standout senior golfer, will ink her college letter-of-intent today in a ceremony at the high school.

Enstrom, who shared Western Big 6 Conference and sectional medalist honors, will continue her golf and education at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn. St. Cloud State is an NCAA Div. II program that competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

"I went to the campus and met with their coach and really liked the atmosphere there," said Enstrom.

1989 -- 25 years ago: The B-29 Super-Fortress bomber is impressive looking, and it did the job during World War II. Its claim to fame is dropping the atomic bombs in Japan to end the war. Only one B-29 is operational in the world today. It is on display at the Quad City Airport in Moline until Friday.
