Clyde and Lola Sedam, Andalusia, celebrated 65 years of marriage on Nov. 1, 2012.
They were married in Rock Island on Nov. 1, 1947.
They are the parents of Don (Kathy) Sedam, Andalusia; Brenda (Ted) Billingsley, Geneseo; Bonnie Balmer, Andalusia; and Daryl (deceased). They have seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Clyde retired from Farmall in 1980 after 33 plus years, and Lola retired from Eagle Warehouse in 1977 after 17 years. Once they both retired, they moved to the bay near New Boston and farmed for 20 years. Retiring again, they returned to Andalusia and reside there now.
A celebration of their 65th anniversary in being celebrated with a family dinner today, Nov. 4.

1964 — 50 years ago: The Rock Island Junior chamber pf Commerce has received answers to about 65 % of the 600 questionnaires mailed out recently in a "Community Attitude Survey" to analyze sentiments of citizens towards their city's various recreational, educational, and civic service programs.
1989 — 25 years ago: The two thunderstorms passing through the Quad Cities last night and early today left some area residents reaching for their flashlights.
