Tom and Nancy Gainey, Orion, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends.
They were married Oct. 24, 1952, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orion.
They are the parents of four sons, Ty and Pam, Orion; Grant and Rhonda, Orion; Neil and Rena, Eldridge; and Kurt and friend Mary, Moline. They also have been blessed with 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
They resided on the family farm east of Orion.
Tom also was employed at AGH in Orion and NBC Grain in Cambridge. Nancy was a homemaker. They are members of Orion United Methodist Church.

1989 -- 25 years ago: A Rock Island woman is one of 50 winners of $10,000 in cash in the Illinois State Lottery's "Celebration "89" instant ticket game. Dawn Loeffler was the third winner to be chosen through daily drawings that began Aug. 28 and will run 50 consecutive days.
