Dick and Janet Hunter, 710 E Main St., Aledo, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 25, 2012. They are planning a weekend getaway with their children and grandchildren at Fun City in
Burlington.
Mr. and Mrs. Hunter were married on Oct. 25, 1952, at the United Methodist Church in Aledo, where they still are members.
They are the parents of three daughters, Babette (Steve) Liby, New Windsor, Cindy Hunter, Preemption, and Sherrie (John) Taylor, Jacksonville, Ill. They are blessed with six grandchildren, Brandon Bruner, Benjamin Bruner, Janson Bender, Jacob Molburg, Aidan Hunter and Alissa Taylor,
and seven great-grandchildren, Ben, Hanna, Lani, Britny, Brighton, Brody and Brylan, and two great-great-grandsons, Brayden and Bentley. One dear granddaughter, Lindsay Beth Taylor, is their special angel in heaven.
The Hunters are retired from owning and operating Hunter Plumbing and Heating in Aledo. Dick retired from the city of Rock Island as the plumbing inspector in 1995.
Janet and Dick were avid golfers and are diehard Cubs fans. Janet swims regularly and Dick enjoys his crossword puzzles. Their greatest joy is enjoying their family, rarely missing a sporting event, academic activity, music program, grandparents' lunch, pre-school, high school or college graduation, etc. etc. etc.! They are an inspiration to us all!
