Larry Coyne
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial is at Preemption Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where Eureka Lodge 69 AF & AM will conduct Masonic services at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Larry Edward Coyne was born July 14, 1936, in Rock Island, the son of Roy E. and Clara Bloomquist Coyne. He married Lois E. Walker on April 1, 1956, in Matherville. He owned and operated Coyne Trucking and Excavating from 1957 to 1972. From 1972 until the present, he farmed the family farm in rural Milan. Larry was a member of the Eureka Lodge 69 AF & AM, Milan, and the Rock Island County Farm Bureau. He loved farming and driving his equipment and trucks. Larry also enjoyed spending time with his family, attending his grandchildren's activities and drinking coffee with his friends at McDonalds. Survivors include his wife, Lois; children (and spouses), Larry (Wendy) Coyne, Milan, Doug (Susan) Coyne, Milan, DiAnna (Gene) Berry, Kewanee, Susie Congdon (fiance, Shawn Lane), Davenport, and Jim (Lisa) Coyne, Milan; grandchildren, Jenny, Beth, Joyce, Chad, Melissa, Kristi, Thomas, Justin, Bailee, Ethan and Erica; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Nancy (Art) Gowey, Milan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an aunt and uncle, Mildred and Wilbur. Online condolences may be left at www.wheelanpressly.com.
