The Andover Historical Society of Andover, IL, will meet on Tuesday, September 18, 2 p.m., at the American Woman's League Building. Kathleen Suesy of Moline, who has organized 14 cemetery walks in Moline's Riverside Cemetery over the past several years, will tell how "Cemeteries Come Alive." She is a retired school teacher who loves local history. Kathleen was born to English parents in Naples, Italy, and had to flee to England during World War II when Italy joined the war. She believes cemeteries are great repositories of history and are important reminders of our heritage and the story of the community and the surrounding area. The group will have lunch at the Andover Cafe at 1 o'clock, prior to the meeting. and will enjoy potluck desserts following the meeting.
The Andover Historical Museum will be open that day from 12-1 p.m. for persons who would like to visit.
