Rex L. Carlson, 85, of New Boston, died Aug. 28, 2012, at Select Medical Center, Davenport.
Service are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at New Boston United Methodist. Burial will be at Mannon Cemetery near New Boston. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers, Muscatine.
He was born Dec. 31, 1926, in New Boston, to E. C. and Geneva Carlson. He graduated from the New Boston High School. He was a World War II Army veteran.
With partner, Hal Zahn, he owned and operated Carlson's Floral Shop in Muscatine for 21 years.
Survivors include sisters, Helen Irven, Bloomfield, Iowa, and Treva Steinbeck, Owensboro, Ky; nieces and nephews.
