Betty Lou Killingsworth, 77, passed away Aug. 26, 2012, after a courageous battle with a short illness.|
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, Kan., with Herb Stange presiding. Burial will be at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary; visitation also was held 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the church, Meals on Wheels or Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1935, in Independence, Kan., the daughter of Paul LeRoy and Bertha Spaulding Dillon Holmes. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1953. On Sept. 11, 1955, she married James Edward Killingsworth in Hutchinson. He died Jan. 12, 1999.
Betty had worked for IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union, East Moline. She also worked for Braun's Clothing Store in Minneapolis, Minn., and for the past 12 years, had delivered Meals On Wheels. She was a longtime member of Westbrook Baptist Church, now known as CrossPoint Church.
Survivors include four children, Juna Keever, and husband, Jim, Hutchinson, Russell Killingsworth, and wife, Diana, Rock Island, Amy Sutcliffe, and husband, James, Leo, Ind., Darren Killingsworth, Hutchinson; three sisters, Donna Borntrager, Burrton, Kan., Cleo Webber, Chanute, Kan., Doris Bowen, Fort Meyers, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Chelsey Trevino, Houston, Texas, Nathan Keever, Yukon, Okla., David Keever, North Newton, Kan., Stephanie Clifton and Joshua Killingsworth, East Moline, Arazi Bashaw, Rock Island, Brittaney Sutcliffe, Fort Wayne, Ind., Haley Sutcliffe, Leo, Ind., James and Brentt Killingsworth, both of Hutchinson; two great-granddaughters; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin daughters, Victoria and Vanessa; a sister, Georgia Helm; and a granddaughter.
