Funeral services for Elaine "Lanie" Walker, 84, of Rock Island, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Orr's Mortuary, 1326 4th Ave., Rock Island. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.

She departed this life on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born July 2, 1928, in Corinth, Miss., the daughter of Edison and Anna Bell Orricks Alexander. She married Harold Green Walker on March 21, 1945.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a member of Progressive Baptist Church, Davenport. She retired from Bradley University in 1984, as a housekeeper. She was a devoted mother and loved to cook, sew and fish.

Survivors include her sons, Harold Walker Jr., Bourbonnais, Ill., Charles Walker, Kankakee, Ill., Karl Walker, Chicago, Earnest Walker, Iowa City, Iowa, and Christopher Walker, Houston, Texas; and daughters, Charlotte Murray and Pamela Walker, Rock Island. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, twin sisters and two daughters.
