Janet Russell
Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Russell died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at her home after a yearlong battle with lung cancer. Memorials may be made to the ARC of Rock Island County. Janet Bunch was born March 10, 1957, in Rock Island, the daughter of Hubert and Phyllis Cassity Bunch. She married Mike Russell on July 28, 1979, in Moline. She worked as a computer programmer for the Rock Island/Milan School District. Janet had been a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, especially when they would hang out at the pool. Survivors include her husband, Mike Russell, East Moline; daughter, Trisha (Tony) Fritz, East Moline; son, Anthony Russell, Moline; grandchildren, Lauren, Lexi and London Fritz; mother, Phyllis Bunch, East Moline; brother, Mike (Darbie) Bunch, Colona; sisters, Diana (Rick) Reel and Kathy (Doug) Wiegel, both of East Moline; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. The family requests that anyone who has a "Jammin for Janet" shirt please wear it to the visitation in honor of Janet's courageous fight with cancer.
