Adam D. Smith, 26, East Moline, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at his home.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the East Moline Soccer Club.

Adam was born Jan. 7, 1986, in Moline, the son of George and Gloria Smith. He graduated from United Township High School in 2004. He received his associate's degree at Black Hawk College and last attended St. Ambrose University, Davenport.

Adam was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He enjoyed working with young people and had coached for his favorite sport, soccer. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music and playing the guitar. Adam enjoyed cooking and was a "master griller."

Survivors include his parents, George and Gloria, East Moline; brothers, Doug (Lisa) Smith, Pembina, N.D., Lance (Rachael) Smith, Cameron, Wis.; his sister, Meghan (Bobby) Sharp, Lindenhurst, Ill.; nieces and nephews, Hannah, Hunter, Jamar, Jayla and Ava; and his grandmother, Edna Smith, East Moline.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Susie and Stanley Smith and George W. Smith.
