Gary J. Martin, 62, of Hampton, and Haines City, Fla., died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at his home in Haines City.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, East Moline. Services are 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, at the funeral home. The Rev. RG Mills will officiate. Burial is at Hampton Township Cemetery, Hampton, escorted by the Patriot Guard.

Gary was born June 13, 1950, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., the son of John Lloyd and Amber Darlene Warrington Martin. He married Darlene Larrison on Feb. 28, 1970, in the Hampton Methodist Church, and has been married for 42 years. Gary was retired in 2008 as shift head supervisor at Lock and Dam 15 for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Arsenal Island. Gary was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the Calvary Church QC in Moline.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughters, Dana (Steve) Wardlow, Milan, Amber Martin, Hampton, and Andrea Martin, Muscatine, Iowa; sons, Shann Martin, New Windsor, Ryan Martin, Toluca, Ill., Jeff (Breana) Martin, Oceanside, Calif., Chase (Danae) Martin, Hampton, Joshua (Schalene) Martin, Milan, Barry Martin, Gowanda, N.Y., Travis Martin, Hampton, and Robert Martin, Moline; sisters, Rita (Frank) Weber, Bagley, Wis., Betsy (Butch) Vorwald, Bloomington, Wis., Janine Martin, Cassville, Wis., Tammy (John) Dall, Hazel Green, Wis., Robin (Barry) Allen, Reed Point, Mont., and Roberta (Bill) Palmer, Luana, Iowa; brothers, Jim (Joyce) Martin, Bloomington, Wis., Bruce Martin, Bagley, and Jeff (Amber) Martin, Bagley; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
