Sandra Pennington

Sandra "Sandy" Pennington, East Moline, died Friday, June 29, 2012, at her home. Private family burial will be at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Sandy was a very shy person who didn't like crowds, therefore there will be no visitation. The family hopes that everyone will understand. Sandy was born March 5, 1948, in Moline, to Thelma and William "Ray" Pennington. She graduated from United Township High School in June 1966 and received her BS in education from the University of Illinois Normal in 1970. She taught at the elementary school in Vienna, Ill. Survivors include sisters, Helen Humphrey Heiland, East Moline, and Cynthia "Cindy" Pennington Kennedy, Metropolis, Ill.; eight nieces and nephews; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother; father; and brothers, Jack and Jerry Humphrey. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.vanhoe.com.
