Sell your stuff on eBay with BHC class

Turn items from your attic and basement into cash with the Black Hawk College class "Selling on eBay."

Participants will learn how to put their unwanted items for sale on the online auction site.

The class will meet from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays, June 19 to July 10, at the college's Outreach Center in East Moline. Cost is $33.

Refresh food code knowledge in one-day class

Restaurant and food service workers can take a refresher course on food codes at Black Hawk College.

The "Refresher Seminar on Food Codes" will cover the needed information on changes in the food codes, holding times, revised cooking temps, receiving, storage and preparation information.

Choose from two class dates – June 19 or Aug. 21 -- from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the college's Outreach Center in East Moline. Cost is $38.

Explore wonders of nature in new youth camp June 25-29

Kids in grades 3-9 can explore the wonders of nature in the new Black Hawk College camp, Intermediate Outdoor Adventure Education.

The hands-on training will give youths the skills to successfully plan a nature escape. The last day will be spent practicing new skills, such as pitching tents.

The camp will be the week of June 25-29 with:

* Grades 7-9 from 8 to 10 a.m.

* Grades 5-6 from 10 a.m. to noon

* Grades 3-4 from 1 to 3 p.m.

All camps will be at the college's Outreach Center in East Moline. Cost is $85 per camp plus a $15 materials fee.

Delve into the world of the Impressionists in new BHC class

Impressionism, one of the most loved and imitated styles of art, will be explored in the new Black Hawk College class, "The Art of the Impressionists."

Students will study the history of Impressionism and learn about artists such as Degas, Monet and Cassatt. The class will include hands-on art projects focusing on Impressionist techniques and ideas.

The class will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, July 3-24, at the college's Outreach Center in East Moline. Cost is $45.
