John 'Johnnie' Boling
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. The Rev. Terry Lancaster will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens in rural Kewanee. Memorials can be directed to the Annawan High School FFA or the Annawan Ambulance Service. Johnnie was born April 26, 1973, in Kewanee, son of John E. and Marianne Lazoen Boling. He attended Kewanee Schools and was with the graduating class of 1991. He was of the Protestant faith. He had been affiliated with Winning Wheels and had enjoyed several summer sessions at Camp Courageous in Monticello, Iowa. He enjoyed animals, fishing, music, car shows and the outdoors. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Marianne and Roger Greim, Annawan, his father and stepmother, John and Julie Boling, Kewanee; a sister, Jeannie (Mike) Carlson, Mineral; a niece, Jessie Segura; two nephews, Brett Carlson and Logan Segura; his godparents, Paul and Linda Hove and their three sons, with whom he was very close; three uncles, Larry (Kate) Lazoen, Richard (Brenda) Lazoen and Jim (Cheryl) Boling; two aunts, Judy (Jim) Aercke and MaryJo (Larry) Evans; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; an uncle, Don Lazoen; a stepfather, Steven Chilausky; and an aunt, Dorothy Lamb. "God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best."
