John Laurence "Johnnie" Boling, 39, of Annawan, died peacefully at 12:57 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. The Rev. Terry Lancaster will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens, rural Kewanee. Memorials can be directed to the Annawan High School FFA or the Annawan Ambulance Service.

Johnnie was born on April 26, 1973, in Kewanee, the son of John E. and Marianne Lazoen Boling.

He had attended Kewanee Schools and was with the graduating class of 1991. He was of the Protestant faith. He had been affiliated with Winning Wheels and had enjoyed several summer sessions at Camp Courageous in Monticello, Iowa. He enjoyed animals, fishing, music, car shows and the outdoors. "God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best."

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Marianne and Roger Greim, Annawan; his father and stepmother, John and Julie Boling, Kewanee; a sister, Jeannie (Mike) Carlson, Mineral; a niece, Jessie Segura; a nephew, Logan Segura; his godparents, Paul and Linda Hove and their three sons, whom he was very close with; two uncles, Larry (Kate) Lazoen and Richard (Brenda) Lazoen; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; an uncle, Don Lazoen; and a stepfather, Steven Chilausky.
