Rose Berhenke, Moline, will be honored at an open house on Saturday, May 19, in observance of her 80th birthday.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend from 2 to 4 p.m. at Faith Evangelical Free Church on Airport Road, Moline.
Rose was born May 21, 1932. She married Donald E. Berhenke, Moline, on May 5, 1951, in Rock Island. He died in 1996.
Her children and spouses are Donnie and Penny Berhenke, Taylor Ridge; Debi and Gary Gooch, Port Byron; David and Leslie Berhenke, East Moline; Doug and Diane Berhenke, Moline; Darla and Jeff Cimarrusti, Rosco, Ill.; Della and Steve Clark, Hampton; and Dena and Bill Reeves, Moline. She has 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
She retired from the Moline School District as an aide and crossing guard. She is a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church.
In 1989, she was the Individual Volunteer of the Year winner. She also was a Girl Scout organizer for 10 years and leader for 17 years, and a Cub Scout leader for 12 years. She was a recipient of several local PTA honors -- PTA Scroll, Book of Recognition and Life Membership Award. She was a past member of the Isaac Walton League.
She was a caregiver for many people, young and old. A beautiful person inside and out. A wonderful mother and grandmother and friend. We love you, mom.
