Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will hold blood drives at various locations June 2 and 4.

June 2 -- Coal Valley Fire Department, 7:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at the fire station, 103 West 18th Ave. To donate, contact Mike Schnell (309) 799-5534. Donors who last gave blood on or before April 7, are eligible to give blood at this drive.

June 2 -- Messiah Lutheran Church Community Blood Drive, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2 at the church, 302 11th St., Port Byron. To donate, contact Jennifer Smith (309) 737-4055.

June 2 -- Rock Island Conservative Club, 6:30-9 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at 2421 Big Island Road, Milan Club House. To donate, contact Don Peck (309) 787-3386

June 4 -- Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330 13th Ave., Moline, 2:30-6 p.m. To donate, call Judy Rullman, (309) 762-5173. Donors who last gave blood on or before April 9, are eligible to give blood at this drive.

Guest speaker, William Moffitt, director of productengineering of Deere & Co., spoke about leadership and stressed the importance ofcommunity volunteers.
