Rock Island Community Garden Consortium to meet May 12

ROCK ISLAND -- Rock Island Community Garden Consortium is being developed to help people in the city to learn how to garden, cook and preserve produce and market and sell their goods. A gathering will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at Broadway Church, 710 23rd St., Rock Island, for those who would like to be a part of the consortium, have a garden in the city for your personal use, or just find out more about community gardens. By empowering people to get back to their roots through gardening, it will enable many to cut down on food bills and eat healthier. For information, call (309)786-2631.
