Name of Business: Minimum Wages Power Washing

Proprietor: Casey Wages

Business Address: 2129 12th St., Moline

Telephone Number: (
309) 797-3736

Type of Business: Mobile power washing company

When Business Opened: March 20

Why did you start this business: I've always wanted to start my own business, and we did a little research on this type of company and it's something we are able to start small and hopefully build on. I also wanted to teach my kids about having a goal and bringing it to life and starting something from scratch and making it successful.

Where did you get the idea: I always thought there was a need for a service to offer power washing for houses, decks, driveways and such.

What was the biggest hurdle you had to overcome: Being afraid of failing and letting my family down. We just sat down and made the decision to do this as a family and give it all we can. We decided that sometimes you have to take a risk and see what happens.

Is this your first business: Yes?

To whom did you go for advice: My friend, Maxie Wright, a successful business owner, has helped get things started and gives pointers and ideas. My wife always is researching ways we can make the business successful and get the name out there. My kids came up with the company name. They wanted to include our family name and have something people would remember.
