John C. Ward, 75, Sugar Grove, Ill., formerly of Davenport, died Friday, April 27, 2012, at home.

Honoring John's wishes, there will be no services.

John was born in Melrose, Iowa, on June 29, 1936, the son of Frank and Catherine Ward. On Feb. 27, 1960, he was united in marriage to Beverly Darlene Jasper. John was a social studies teacher in the Davenport Community School District for 35 years, retiring in 1996.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Beverly, Sugar Grove; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Tracey Ward, Sugar Grove; daughter-in-law, Kris Ward, Davenport; grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Ward, Sugar Grove, and C.J. (Elise), Jake, Joey, Maggie and John Tom Ward, Davenport. John was preceded in death by his son, John F. Ward, in 1997.
