Davenport announces closures on Locust Street, Central Park Avenue

Monday, April 30, 2012 - Crews have reduced traffic to one lane in each direction on West Locust Street from Lincoln to Clark for asphalt repair. The repairs are expected to take approximately two weeks.

Also starting today, the eastbound outside lane in the 3300 block of West Central Park will be closed to allow for storm sewer repair work. The lane restriction will be in place until the work is completed.

Crews have also reduced traffic on East Central Park Avenue from Brady Street to Sheridan to one lane in each direction for full-depth patching. Those repairs should be completed by mid-week.

At 7:30 a.m., a police squad carpulled up in front of Miss Day's home and escorted her to school. A caravan of students' cars joined the procession along the way.
1988 -- 25 years ago: Barbecue cooking and riverfront antics are planned for Discover the
River Day Saturday in Leach Park, Bettendorf. A 5K run, wind surfing, a canoe race, hogcalling and more will round out the day under the Interstate 74 bridge.
