GALESBURG, Ill. (AP) — A lumberyard at a Galesburg hardware store has been destroyed by fire.
Galesburg fire inspector Mike Whitson told WQAD-TV that piles of lumber and roofing materials complicated efforts to put out Saturday's blaze at People's Do It Center.
Crews worked for about 10 hours to extinguish the fire.
A cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
The business opened in 1902. Owner Steve Harkinson says he's not yet sure whether the hardware store will be open Monday because the power has been turned off.
