NAPERVILLE, Ill. (AP) — A 23-month-old girl who was involved in a suburban Chicago school bus crash has died.
The Cook County medical examiner says Jada Akyea of Oswego died late Sunday at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the girl was one of three people hurt in an April 23 crash between an Indian Prairie School District bus and a van in Naperville. Police said the others who were hurt did not appear to have life-threatening injuries. The girl had been taken via helicopter to the hospital after the accident.
Police say they are investigating the accident and ask anyone with information to contact the Naperville Police Department's traffic unit.
